!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , so I thought I’d check the local listings. One ugly fixed roof is all I found.
But thanks to the magic of keyword spam, this oddball kei truck popped up, and all is forgiven. Way too pricy, but how cute it is!

Yeah, looks like a pretty clean truck, and that’s an unusual color, but the price is crac kpipe-eriffic.

These are a bit scary when you drive one, and realize there is basically nothing between you and whatever the front end might run into or might run into the front end.
That and there is zero adjust-a bility for the seat. So if you are not built to Japanese standard size - it is a challenge to get in and out, and operate the foot pedals.
They are great for hauling stuff from the DYI shop though.

Someone local to me, and an Oppo commenter, has a Jeep FC that I’m dying to check out.

My neighbours example is certainly not that straight...and yet it is registered. I
I saw him carting water in an EBC with it late last year. The EBC was 3/4 full...it probably weighed more than the vehicle!

Those look slightly less than comfortable. I’m betting these seats are completely non-adjustable, and that means there’s no way I could get behind the wheel.
That’s the rub though. I often look at kei trucks/vans but realize that no matter how cool they are it’s highly doubtful I could ever use one.

You can always adjust them with a sledgehammer.

That’s quite confusing to me, hoping someone has an answer.

I’ll need to start with a sawzall so I can cut a recess in the rear wall shaped like my body.

They’re insane. We had one to drive around some musical instruments in my old drum corps and the trailer it towed was the trailer it rode on between shows. It could easily pull 12 people on the trailer and lord knows how much our equipment weighed.

That’s about what they go for imported and ready to go. +/-$500

It’s highway robbery based on what they actually cost at auction tho.

I’m wondering if it might be a hydraulic PTO. The hoses above it suggest that might be the case.

You’re shopping the wrong places... A clean early ‘90's machine can be had under $5 000 all day long, and if you don’t mind a few dents or a smoker’s interior, $45 00 and under is prett y easy to find.

I’ve really thought about importing one of these as a second vehicle. Would be fun and practical!

I found a video showing the PTO in action and it’s mounted on top of the transmission.
Perhaps it has high/low range axles?
